For youth and young adults with learning disabilities
Drama workshops with a group of ten students, together with their support staff, now meet every Friday afternoon of term time at Llandovery Theatre, with their director Jacky Barnes,
The group present a variety of learning disabilities; but we have always believed that access to theatre, drama, poetry and acting can often trigger and release remarkable performance talents, and we will work towards that goal.
Yes, it is a huge learning curve for them, and for us, but together we will work to make every Friday afternoon stimulating and enjoyable.
Past productions include LONG LIVE LOVE – a musical play, pantomime plays: Treasure Island, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, also A Christmas Carol, all plays scripted by the Company specifically for young people to perform – and recently Aladdin, another Simon Barnes’ play.
